Article exerts from Emerald Magazine (July September 2004 Issue) On the
opening track Super Duppa Fly, Scorpion state that he wants to show you a
thing or two youve never witnessed before and instantly you will realize that
his whole EP delivers an extreme vision of that very concept. Every track is
not only different form each other, but also different from anything that has
ever touch the airwaves. Scorpion has let the concept and idea of Album Name
marinate for over a year he is not ready to impregnate the population and
birth a new chapter in music. Only on question is raised by the genius that
sees the unraveling of a new era of reggae and hip-hop. Is the world ready for
Scorpion? Using melodic and party-inducing beats to lure the crowd is a
technique that many artists use to break in this crowded business called
music, but nobody, absolutely nobody, is out-shining Scorpion at the party.
Scorpions lyrical delivery sets him way above the artists of his genre,
reggae, and also puts him in a league with some of the best rap artists. On
War, Scorpion stands equally triumphant with the powerful rap duo Distant Pham
and again in The Rise. In this repetitive world of music where artists
discredit listeners by feeding them simple minded lyrics and beats, Scorpion
is a refreshing burst of creative fusion between reggae, hip-hop, and R&B.
On each song Scorpion proves that you can still make people dance without
bending to industrys text-book format of a single or hit. Not once on this EP
does he slip on the lyrical content, delivery, or the instrumentals. The only
problem is the fact that youre left wanting to more, wondering how the
complete album will round out this wonderful intro into the world of Scorpion.
Is the world ready for Scorpion? Only time will tell for sure, but theres
nothing like no-choice to motivate the masses to vibe to this new movement
lead by the dreams of a genius that we will all come to know as Scorpion. Stay
tuned. more music available at racjam.com! ; |
